Our researchers have been ranked among the "The World's Top 2% Scientists" in 2025
Twenty-six researchers from Wakayama Medical University have been included in "Science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators", a comprehensive list of the world's top 2% scientists that was updated and published in September 2025 by Stanford University and Elsevier.
The ranking is based on the Scopus citation database, which is classified into 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields. It includes scientists from around the world who have published at least five papers, and the top 2% are highlighted.
There are two categories: 'single recent year' and 'career long impact'.
